HISTORY OF THE ARTISAN CENTER
"In the beginning days of the Artisan Center it was just me and a dream of what the shop would be like! It started out on a different corner. A tiny space. I had very few customers! Maybe one or two a day.
So a friend and I took off to New Mexico and hit a fabulous craft fair there. I borrowed $1,700 from my parents and filled my old Volvo up with cool stuff from the fair. And off we went! It took 3 years to make anything. Slowly, the Artisan Center came to life. I wanted the shop to be a magical place with energy, kindness, connection, and warmth. My motto was just make a friend; making connections was more important than a sale. Now, it's a family of all of us and everyone that walks through the door!" -Ellen, founder of the Artisan Center |
