Flambeaux by Bill Campbell

Picture

Their story

"Bill started making crystalline glazes about 10 years ago, and now it is his favorite glaze, because of the freedom to experiment more in color and crystals. He makes only one crystalline color in tableware: a white base, sometimes with blue and green accents. Vases, lamps, and large platters are the favored forms that give him the surface to really show off what crystals can do. The crystals form, or “grow”, in the kiln when the materials and the firing cycle (controlled by computer) is perfect, developing during a heat “soaking” and cooling cycle. Sometimes there are tiny all over crystals, sometimes big single floating ones. Sometimes you may spot a little “bowtie” crystal, one that did not grow into a circle." Visit Bill Campbell Pottery
